Verrucae

Verrucaes on the feet are the result of a viral infection

They are caused by the HPV virus. Infection occurs in public places that require people to step barefoot (e.g. swimming pools, changing rooms). The pathogen is transmitted from people who are sick to healthy. Viral warts occur in both the elderly and the young, as well as children. They are especially annoying to those patients who have a weakened immune system or struggle with other foot ailments (e.g. excessive sweating).

Verrucae are similar to corns. They are white, yellowish or gray-greenish in color. They are often accompanied by flaky epidermis and inflammation. Viral warts must be removed. The older the wart, the deeper it is in the skin. In this case, the treatment of warts is difficult and long. There may also be complications.

In the podiatrist's room

Treatment is long-term, requiring the patient's self-discipline and his cooperation with the podiatrist. Treatment of viral verrucae is based on creating an environment that is unfavorable for the development of the virus. For this purpose, appropriate agents are used to remove infected skin cells. The areas affected by warts are lubricated by the podiatrist with silver nitrate. We enrich the therapy with pharmacology that effectively destroys the virus. Treatment of verrucae at a podiatrist can also be performed with the use of galvanic current. Iontophoresis for warts neutralizes the moist environment conducive to the development of the virus, thanks to which their removal is even more effective.
